Arsenal are believed to be preparing an surprise £18m move for Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini, claim Caught Offside. The Belgian was David Moyes’ first signing as United boss, and cost the club a hefty £27.5m; Almost £2m per Premier League appearance so far.
The 26-year old has struggled to get to grips with life at Manchester United since day one, and hasn’t been anywhere near as good as the player he was in his final season at Everton.
The huge transfer fee was always going to be looming over Fellaini should he fail, and its true that injuries certainly haven’t helped the situation, but its fair to say we all expected much more from the holding midfielder.
Now, just ten months on, he was left out of Ryan Giggs’ first match day squad completely and it certainly looks as though his days at United could already be numbered. If an £18m offer does come in from another club, It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if Manchester United choose to cut their losses on Marouane Fellaini at the first possibly opportunity.

i was told yesterday by the son of an agent (he was the first to tell me Arsenal had signed Ozil and that Moyes dithered too long to enquire about him before any press knew) that Fellaini to Arsenal was definitely discussed prior to Moyes sacking, and talks are advanced with Vermaelen coming to United is part of a deal to make it happen
No way b a gud move if Utd they give £20mil n vermarlen but crnt c it happenin and whilst im on the transfer band waggon why has none ov the English so called big clubs give a thought to offering Ashley Cole a contract es only 33 and English come on Utd e wil give us a gud 2/3 years opens ur eyes es obviously stil a top player if real Madrid stil wnt him. #signhimup……
Ha no. I believe it would be unfair for him not to get another year. It’s not like has never been good. There were glimpses this season of his ability. Let him get a full preseason and full year and then we will see if he can make it. We need the midfielders and he has been better than cleverly and Anderson.
