Ashley Young tells Solskjaer he’ll never play for the club again: report

Manchester United’s situation under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is only heading in one direction; downwards.

Over the last 24 hours or so, we’ve been covering a story in regards to a potential Ashley Young switch to Inter Milan. Well, it certainly looks as though the deal is going to happen at some point.

Now, that situation has quickly escalated. The story comes from the usually reliable Gianluca Di Marzio, translated by the Daily Express. It is now claimed that the versatile United star has told Solskjaer that he’ll never play for United again. Yes, you read that correctly.

Starting from United’s next match, Young doesn’t want to be in any matchday squad, not even on the substitutes bench, as he looks to link up with Antonio Conte at Milan – alongside Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez.

When I first heard rumours that Youngy wanted out, I said good luck to him. Personally, I wanted him to stick around until the season’s end, but well, that’s definitely not going to be happening now.

The sad thing is that all the goodwill from fans has now gone straight out of the window. Di Marzio doesn’t often get stories wrong. The supporters will no longer wish Young well, instead, they’ll want him out of the door as soon as possible – and this will be his last memory amongst the terraces. It’s just disappointing.

Again, it shows what an absolute mess the Reds are in from top to bottom – and it’s only going to get worse before it gets better…
