Atletico Madrid are talking about astronomical figures in order to let Joao Felix move to Man United this month.
Recently, Manchester United have been linked with moves to bring in Atletico Madrid attacker, Joao Felix.
The Portugal international, who has fallen out with Diego Simeone over in the Spanish capital, was once considered arguably the best young player in the world as he made the move to the Wanda Metropolitano.
The attacking midfielder is seemingly ready to leave Atletico in search for a new challenge that’ll hopefully rejuvenate his career, with Erik ten Hag a fan of the attacker’s.
Well, United have since learned how much it’ll cost to bring the Portugal international in.
The story comes from The Mirror, who claim that Atletico a demanding a loan fee of £9.5m, and then a commitment to buy outright of £70.5m, in order to let the 23-year-old move to United this month.
I feel pretty confident in saying that if that news is true, United will not be signing Felix this month. This is a club that’s currently up for sale. The Glazer family want to keep that United bank balance as healthy as possible for any potential buyers. I do not see them splashing £80m on Felix over the next six months.
It’s a shame because I genuinely believed Felix would have been an astute signing if United could have pulled it off. Sadly, the figures are just too high.
This is a player who would have absolutely helped in the top four pursuit, who knows, he could’ve made the talk of a late title surge even more common…
At the end of the day, this one always felt like a long shot. Now, it feels like a nigh-on impossibility.
