Axel Tuanzebe out injured until September, Solskjaer confirms

Manchester United Football Club have been in brilliant form since the turn of the year, most notably after Bruno Fernandes’ arrival in late-January.

The Red Devils have started picking up results on the back of a stern defensive partnership being formed by Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof. It wasn’t too long before the start of 2020 when Axel Tuanzebe was pushing hard for a starting berth.

Unfortunately, injuries have decimated Tuanzebe’s campaign, with the youngster barely featuring at all since October.

Now, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed a major blow, with the United defender’s season over, after being ruled out until September with an unspecified injury.

“It’ll be a few weeks before Phil (Jones) can start training & Axel, we won’t probably see until September.” Journalist Simon Peach quoted Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as saying.

Sure, injuries happen, but I’m starting to get concerned with Tuanzebe. He’s practically missed a full season due to treatment table woes – which is majorly disappointing as this was supposed to be his breakthrough campaign.

I don’t doubt that Tuanzebe will recover from these problems eventually, though it’s worrying as they’ll likely be a shortened (or no pre-season at all) before we get straight back into the action for the 2020/21 campaign.

Now, aged 22, Tuanzebe should be making a real assault on the regular starting XI as he looks to force his way in. Hopefully, he’ll pick up where he left off when he eventually gets back out on the field.
