Manchester United Football Club have had pretty horrendous luck recently when it comes to injuries. The Red Devils are without Marcos Rojo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the remainder of the season, and now, a long time frame has been put on Luke Shaw’s latest setback.
It wasn’t that long ago when Jose Mourinho confirmed that the 21-year-old was also done for the campaign, but now, it looks as though the England international is going to miss the start of the 2017/18 season as well.
That’s according to the Daily Mirror, who say that Shaw faces six weeks without putting any pressure on his foot, then it’ll be another two weeks before the cast he has on is removed. In total, he can expect to be sidelined for around four months; which means he won’t be anywhere near ready when the season starts.
If the young man was hoping for a move away due to a lack of playing time, that idea could have just been hampered pretty considerably, as nobody is going to want to spend money on a player who may miss the start of the season.
There is a silver lining regarding that, though, as it means the youngster will get another opportunity to prove his worth to the manager next year. He’s clearly a talented footballer who has had horrendous luck with injuries, and I think he deserves one more crack at the whip.
