Barca boss ‘counting on Fab’

Just yesterday David Moyes confirmed that talks were ‘ongoing’ regarding the transfer of Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas. Today however things have changed again, their new manager Gerardo Martino has said that the Spanish side will reject all bids for him.

This is another massive blow in terms of incoming transfers, and I struggle to see how Moyes can pull this one out of the bag now.

“Fabregas is a top player, we are proud to have him here. It doesn’t matter what the offer from United is, we are counting on him.

“I’m not going to get into the economic interests. If the club rejected it twice, I add a third one right now.

“It is normal that many clubs are interested in our player Cesc. That is a source of pride for us, but we’ll reject all bids.”

Sky Sports confirmed that Fabregas has a £40million buy-out clause in his contract, but only Arsenal can activate it.
