Barca tracking Angel Gomes as he enters final year of Man United contract: report

It seems as though a potential Manchester United exit for starlet Angel Gomes is picking up pace pretty quickly…

Yesterday, we covered a story which claimed that Paris Saint-Germain were interested in a move for the attacking midfielder, today, another team has been thrown into the mix.

According to the Manchester Evening News, FC Barcelona are ‘tracking’ the 18-year-old, who enters into the final year of his Red Devils contract.

The 18-year-old made his debut around two years ago now, but has only made a handful of substitute appearances since. It seems as though both Tahith Chong and Mason Greenwood have leaped the London-born-attacker in the United pecking order which is why he’s probably considering his long-term future.

Gomes apparently had a January loan move away from the Theatre of Dreams lined up, which Ole Gunnar Solskjaer blocked, before only playing him for 15 minutes on the final day of the season. You can sort of see where Gomes is coming from. He wants to play regularly.

We’re obviously talking about a talented young man here, he’s at United while two top European teams are interested in taking him. My concerns come with the fact that once again, this club has allowed a player enter into the final year of his deal.

Whether or not he’ll play regular minutes for either Barca or PSG is regardless. Gomes has all the power and if he wants to refuse to sign a United deal then he could well force a move away from the club this summer.
