Barcelona don’t want to sell Fabregas to Manchester United or Arsenal

Last summer Manchester United spent months pursuing a lost cause in trying to lure Cesc Fabregas away from his boyhood club Barcelona due to a lack of playing time. This time round, it was thought that the Catalan side would listen to offers for Cesc, but according to Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu, that isn’t the case.

‘We don’t want to sell players,’ he said.

‘Barca do not want to sell Fabregas or any other players that may appear to be on the market.’

It was thought that the 26-year old would be available if a club offered the right amount of money for him, but it seems that the incoming boss looks like he wants to evaluate all the squad before making any decisions regarding their futures. Barcelona also have the transfer ban looming which is currently on hold pending an appeal from the club.

If this ban does come into place then they won’t be able to sign any players for at least a year, so keeping hold of their stars for a little while longer would be a wise move.
