Manchester United’s Juan Mata made the move to Old Trafford just over a year ago now, and its fair to say the clever Spaniard hasn’t set the world alight since a then club record fee. According to Spanish reports, the 26-year old could be set to move to Barcelona – but not until 2016.
Barcelona are currently under a transfer embargo due to a ban handed out by FIFA after breaching rules on acquiring the signatures of under eighteen year old players, but they’ve been drawing up a shortlist of potential signings with Juan Mata on the top of that list.
Juan Mata is the style of player who’d flourish in Spain due to his excellent technical ability. Although at times he has looked brilliant, Mata has often failed to cope with the physicality of the league and that has sometimes caught him out – particularly in games away from Old Trafford.
