Manchester United’s squad overhaul has begun with the Reds sealing a move to sign Daniel James from Swansea City. For Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, that must only be the start and more players must arrive at Old Trafford.
On the other hand, the club must do their utmost to keep their current superstars happy. Amongst those is Marcus Rashford, who has been attracting interest from FC Barcelona recently.
Anyway, late last night, journalist Adam Crafton provided us with another update on Rashford’s proposed switch to the Camp Nou…
Crafton states that thankfully, Barca have given up on their chase of the talented 21-year-old; for this summer at least… Apparently, United’s demands are too high due to the fact that Rashford effectively has two years left on his deal. However, it could be a transfer saga next summer if the forward doesn’t sign a new Reds deal.
I think it’s telling that even boyhood United fan Rashford isn’t committing his future to the Old Trafford club just yet. The 20-time Premier League champions are in an absolute mess at the moment – and things better change quickly if they want to keep ahold of their key footballers.
For now, the ball is in United’s court but that can change pretty quickly. Hopefully, Rashford starts the season well and the Reds lock him down to a new long-term contract before Christmas. If that doesn’t happen, rumours about his future will definitely start to swirl.
