Manchester United have had some great battles against Barcelona over the years, and at the heart of the team from Catalonia is a certain midfielder named Xavi Hernandez. There are rumours that the Spaniard is set to retire at the end of the season, meaning that Barca’s game against PSG will probably be his last Champions League group stage game ever.
After the game, Xavi was asked to pick his best ever British XI, and its no surprises to see some Manchester United greats in there. Rio Ferdinand makes the cut, as does another midfield maestro in the form of Paul Scholes. Ryan Giggs is also included, as is Wayne Rooney.
The goalkeeper is a bit of an odd one. I guess he doesn’t rate Joe Hart…
