Manchester united and Liverpool have been going head-to-head on and off the pitch for plenty of years, and its a battle that we’ve been fortunate to have the better hand of in recent history. We’ve gained another little triumph, with one of the world’s best claiming he’d have picked United over Liverpool.
FC Barcelona’s Xavi:
“A team with history. Either Manchester United or Liverpool. I know that other teams like Man City have emerged more recently but Manchester United are my favourite historically speaking.” he said.
Whilst Xavi Hernandez is now over the hill and unlikely to feature for one of Europe’s elite again, its always nice to get one over on our bitterest of rivals in any situation.
Xavi, at 35, still respects everything Manchester United do and he has had plenty of battles with us in the past.
