Manchester United’s January transfer window was a rather dull one for the fans; particularly in terms of incoming transfers. Jose Mourinho obviously felt his squad is more than capable for right now, either that, or there was no players that became available.
The summer transfer window tends to be the one where the self-proclaimed Special One will get his moves done as early as possible. Now, it looks like planning for that window is already underway.
According to Portuguese media outlet O’Jogo via the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United’s decision to not bring in Victor Lindelof over the January transfer window could cost them – as Catalan giants FC Barcelona are now interested in signing the 22-year-old Swede.
The man from Benfica is making a real impression out in Portugal, heck, it tells you all you need to know when two giants like United and Barca show an interest in you.
He will not come cheap, however, with the report suggesting that Benfica value Lindelof at around the £50million mark, which is obviously a colossal amount of money to take a gamble with.
Right now, United’s centre-halves are playing some excellent stuff. Eric Bailly is getting better every week, Phil Jones is working wonders alongside Marcos Rojo and Chris Smalling is doing a good job as well.
That said, if Jose likes him, it’d make sense to bring him in because our manager has got every single one of his transfer decisions 100% correct so far – and long may that continue.
