Bastian Schweinsteiger could make first Manchester United start hints Van Gaal

Manchester United’s Bastian Schweinsteiger has been limited to three substitute appearances so far in his short career in England, but in every one he has absolutely controlled the tempo of the game and looks a real class act.

Today Louis van Gaal met the media and was quizzed about whether the German could make his first Old Trafford start, and the Iron Tulip hinted that it could happen this weekend.

When asked about if Schweinsteiger could start, Van Gaal replied:

“Yes, of course. It’s a matter of time. Maybe it shall happen tomorrow. You never know. I think he can still do better because when you are not fit enough then it is difficult to show your highest level. But I think it’s also a matter of time and we have seen a solution in rotating our [second] captain, Michael Carrick, with Schweinsteiger. I think it’s a very good solution because we can spare them both for the big moments.”

There is no doubting that if fit, Bastian Schweinsteiger has the ability to be one of the first names on the team sheet. The 31-year old just oozes class, calmness and stability, and there is no doubting that Manchester United would be a better team with him in from the get-go.
