Bastian Schweinsteiger sends heartfelt message to fans about Man Utd future

Manchester United’s move for Bastian Schweinsteiger was one of the most eagerly anticipated deals in the history of the game. The German had spent all of his career with his boyhood side Bayern Munich, but was persuaded to move to England by Louis van Gaal.

Now 32, it always felt like a move that happened just too late in his career. He started brilliantly at Old Trafford, but unfortunately injury cost him the second half of the season, and it never looked easy for him to convince Mourinho off his abilities.

Schweinsteiger hasn’t played a competitive minute of football for United this season so far, and hasn’t even been able to force his way into the match day squad. Now, he has spoken out about his exile.

Check out Bastian’s tweet about the whole situation here:

It certainly wouldn’t have been easy for Schweinsteiger to write that statement with the way things are going at the moment, but fair play to him. It seems as though he is willing to fight for his place in Jose Mourinho’s side and that attitude will serve him well going forward.

As for his next move, you’d reckon his preferred destination would probably be the MLS as it’d be a much more attractive lifestyle than China for example.
