Manchester United Football Club have problems aplenty to deal with at the moment.
Credit where it’s due, though, one area they have gotten right is the goalkeeper position. David de Gea is truly outstanding while Sergio Romero is the best back-up around. Then you have the highly talented Joel Pereira and Dean Henderson waiting in the wings.
Anwyay, it seems the latter is attracting some big attention of late. The story comes from the Daily Mail, who state that European giant Bayern Munich has the 22-year-old Man United man ‘on their radar’. That’s despite the fact that Henderson only penned a new three-year contract in June.
Henderson is actually yet to make his Reds debut, but has been mightily impressive on three successive loan spells. First time out, he helped Shrewsbury Town to promotion in League One. Last year, Sheffield United benefitted from his talents as they made it to the Premier League via the play-offs. This year, Henderson headed back to The Blades for his first taste of Premier League action.
I love Henderson, I think he’s a real character and someone who’d become a proper cult hero at Old Trafford. However, where does he fit in? He’s third (at best) in the pecking order, and if Munich firm up their interest with a bid, don’t be surprised to see the Young Englishman push for the move and follow in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho and head to Germany…
