Bayern Munich are now in discussions to acquire Bruno Fernandes from Man United…
Manchester United Football Club are undergoing major change. INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are now looking to put their stamp on the Red Devils, though it’s going to take time for the new owners to flourish.
You’d expect that building around Bruno Fernandes would be a no-brainer, though reports recently have worryingly suggested otherwise.
O Jogo (in Portuguese) have provided the latest information on that front, as Fernandes is still being linked with a move to Bayern Munich.
According to their sources, the Bavarian club are ‘already in talks’ with Bruno’s agent, Miguel Pinho, to try and sign the key superstar from United.
Apparently, the ‘first steps’ have been taken to prise the player away from Old Trafford. Barcelona are also said to be keen on signing Bruno.
It goes without saying, losing our captain and talisman would be disastrous. He was arguably the best player on the pitch in the FA Cup final, while he finished the season super strongly. We’d be lost without him in all honesty.
This could be a play by Bruno’s agent in order to force United’s hand into a new contract. It has also been claimed by some media outlets that the player himself would like to stay, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see a new contract in the offing in the not too distant future.
As things stand, I’d personally give Bruno a slim chance at leaving this summer. It’d take a monumental offer for the club to even consider it. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how this one plays out. I am not too worried as of yet, though.
