Berbatov Looks Set For Exit

The summer transfer window has been one big waiting game for the Bulgarian, however with the 11pm deadline on Friday fast approaching, there is finally some concrete interest in our 31-year old striker. Italian side Fiorentina have reportedly offered £4million for him, and Berbatov is on his way to Florence to agree terms.

The classy Bulgarian definitely deserves more game time than he’s currently getting and a move to Fiorentina would certainly see that happen, although it would be sad to see him go, a move away is probably best for all involved. The way he’s handled himself around the whole situation couldn’t have been any better. Dimitar has remained dignified throughout, he’s not moaned about lack of playing time and he’s patiently waited for an offer to come in for his services.

I’ll never forget that game-winning hat trick against Liverpool, or the five goals he scored against Blackburn in the 7-1 mauling. He was simply unstoppable that season, without his goals we probably wouldn’t have made it 19 that year. Good luck, Berba!
