Big boost as Man United man set to sign new five-year, £130k-a-week contract: report

Anthony Martial looked all set to leave Manchester United in the summer, after growing increasingly frustrated at a lack of opportunities.

However, in a dramatic U-turn, it looks as though the Frenchman could be set for a sensational Old Trafford say, with a shiny new contract to boot.

That’s according to The Sun, per the Daily Mirror, who say that Martial is close to agreeing a new five-year deal worth a huge £130,000-a-week.

What you have to be impressed with is Martial’s attitude. Not once has he moaned nor cried. Instead, the 22-year-old has just got his head down and continued to work hard.

His efforts have been rewarded by Mourinho, too, who has started Martial in the last few games. The ex-Monaco man was excellent against Newcastle United last time out. Now, he has to kick on and prove that he is worthy of that spot in the team.

It goes to show that, underneath it all, Martial wanted to stay at United. He was just craving that regular playing time. It’s great to see that he and the manager have ironed out their differences and I hope he can rediscover the brilliant form he was in during the early goings of the 2017/18 campaign.
