Brandon Williams wins Norwich City Player of the Month while out on loan

Brandon Williams is making a brilliant impression while out on loan.

Manchester United’s squad is overflowing with quality, hence, some lads have to leave on loan to play with regularity.

One of those guys is Brandon Williams. The young man from Harpurhey started life at Old Trafford brilliantly, but with the arrival of Alex Telles, minutes were hard to come by for the Englishman – hence, he’d head to Norwich City on a season-long loan deal.

The best part about this move is that Williams has been starting almost every week. Although it’s at the opposite end of the table, there’s no doubt that this spell has made him an even better player.

Over the last month, the performance levels have improved further. So-much-so that the United loanee would be named Norwich City’s January Player of the Month, with Williams all-smiles holding his award aloft.

Confidence matters at the highest level. There’s very little in it when it comes to ability in the Premier League, with this giving Williams a massive momentum boost going forward.

It’s easy to forget that Williams is still just twenty-one. That’s so young in footballing terms, though the left-back already has so much experience under his belt and that’ll serve him nicely going forward.

The question about his long-term future remains. I still think he’s every bit as good as Luke Shaw and Alex Telles, while age is definitely on his side. A lot depends on who the new manager is. If the club hire Mauricio Pochettino, who loves working with young players, then Williams will be feeling very good about his chances.

For now, it’s about focusing on Norwich City and continuing to impress.
