Brian Brobbey ‘would jump at the chance’ to join Man United amid interest

Brian Brobbey would be keen on making the move to Man United and re-uniting with Erik ten Hag.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move to sign a striker during this January transfer window, with names like Benjamin Sesko and Brian Brobbey being eyed by Erik ten Hag.

Links to the latter have been plentiful. Brobbey worked with Ten Hag at Ajax, with the United boss often displaying a preference to surrounding himself with familiarity, this month would make sense.

Anyway, Football Insider have provided the latest on that front, providing the insight from the player’s side.

They believe that the 21-year-old striker ‘would jump at the chance’ to join United this year, amid the aforementioned interest.

Ten Hag is said to be a ‘big admirer’ of Brobbey from their time together over in the Netherlands, while the player would be ‘very keen’ on making that reunion happen.

Brobbey has 15 goals and 4 assists across all competitions this time, which is obviously a very decent return for the Eredivisie striker. He’s also still young and learning his trade, meaning there’s more room for growth.

This strikes me as a signing that would be more likely to happen in the summer. Luring players away in the mid-season window is notoriously tough. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is still undertaking a full evaluation of the club, too, so I do not see him splashing big cash until that is complete.

Having two young strikers like Rasmus Hojlund and Brobbey, both of whom play differing roles, could be the key to future success for many years to come.

Do you think Brian Brobbey would be a good signing for Man United? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
