This midweek sees the return of the Europa League, with Jose Mourinho’s men heading to Russia to take on Rostov. The game is due to kick-off at 18:00 BST this coming Thursday, in what is the first ever meeting between the two sides in a competitive fixture.
Earlier today, the official club website revealed the 20-man squad that will travel to the other side of Europe and it includes a certain Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The Armenia captain had missed the last couple of games with a hamstring injury, but it’s great to have him back and seemingly ready to play.
Will he start? Who knows, but the minutes on the field would definitely be good for him. Over the last few months, he has been without doubt, one of our best players, and to have him available is brilliant.
We certainly missed his creativity in both the EFL Cup final and the home game against AFC Bournemouth, and the latter result definitely could have been different if the 27-year-old was available.
Squad in full:
De Gea, Romero, O’Hara; Valencia, Jones, Rojo, Smalling, Blind, Darmian, Young; Carrick, Herrera, Fellaini, Pogba, Mata, Lingard, Mkhitaryan; Martial, Rashford, Ibrahimovic.
