It now feels like we’re doing daily Aaron Wan-Bissaka updates on Old Trafford Faithful. We’re almost getting to a similar stage in regards to Bruno Fernandes, too…

The midfielder had an excellent season with Sporting Lisbon, which has understandably caught the eye of several top European clubs. There are two names that keep cropping up more than most though; Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Our last article on Fernandes came yesterday morning when we covered a story from the Daily Telegraph, which claimed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was keen to push through a move ‘as soon as possible’.

Portuguese media outlet O Jogo have now gotten in on the act. In their Tuesday print edition, translated excellently via Sport Witness, a bold claim has been made.

They say that Fernandes’ agent, Miguel Pinho, flew to England yesterday to hold further talks with both United and Spurs about the 24-year-old…

Apparently, the Sporting board are expecting ‘important updates’ on Fernandes’ future – although no official bids are mentioned in their piece.

With Tottenham all-but completing a move for Tanguy Ndombele last night, this could give United a free run at a super-talented player who directly contributed to fifty goals last season.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Fernandes could be a great addition for us, but he’ll need time to settle into life in England.

Hopefully, Edward Woodward pulls his finger out and we finally start to see this proposed transfer move in the right direction…
