Bruno Fernandes explains why he shushed Pep Guardiola

Manchester United’s derby day victory was almost a week ago now, but memories of *that* Scott McTominay goal will live with us forever.

The Red Devils have been in brilliant form ever since Bruno Fernanes made the move to Manchester. In fact, the Old Trafford outfit are undefeated since the superstar attacking midfielder left Sporting Lisbon.

Ironically, the derby was probably his worst game in United colours, though he still managed to pick up a supreme assist for Anthony Martial’s opener. The moment of the match, though, came when Fernandes was spotted saying shhh to Pep Guardiola.

Now, Bruno Fernandes has brilliantly explained why he made that gesture to the Manchester City boss – and it makes perfect sense…

“At that moment the words he told me made me mad… I have respect for Pep & what he wins & what he did for football.” Fernandes told Sky Sports Football. “But I think in that moment, he didn’t respect me, so he didn’t deserve my respect at that moment on the pitch.”

At the end of the day, Fernandes does have the utmost respect for Guardiola. Heck, how couldn’t you, this is a guy who has won everything there is to win…

However, respect is a two-way street. Fernandes felt like the Catalonian boss wasn’t paying him the respect that he deserves, so that’s why he did it.

On that particular day, United had the last laugh. Fernandes was left celebrating while Guardiola was outclassed by Solskjaer for the third time this season.

Again, this just reiterates what a winner Fernandes is. The Portuguese will do absolutely anything to come out on top and it’s an absolute privilege to have someone like that in our squad.
