Bruno Fernandes has revealed just how much he admires James Garner’s game.
Manchester United are gearing up for the 2021/22 campaign, which is coming round quickly, I’ll add.
The first-team is all pretty much back in action now, waiting for a few final pieces of the puzzle before we’re up to a full complement. Amongst those is Bruno Fernandes, who has no doubt been training hard.
Our Portuguese Magnifico once again holds the key to any potential United success this season, though he cannot do it alone. Today, while speaking to ManUtd.com, Fernandes was full of praise for one United starlet in particular; James Garner. The young Englishman is looking to make his first-team breakthrough at United.
Check out what Bruno had to say about Jimmy Garner here:
“I think we know some of them already. Jimmy Garner, I think is a really good player, I really like him and the way he kicks the ball. He’s really aggressive off the ball too.” Bruno said in an exclusive Q&A with the club website.
Garner has spent a few pre-seasons with United, before either dropping back down to the U23s or heading out on loan. You feel like his spell with Nottingham Forest was the making of him.
I’ve been banging the Garner drum for years and I already believe he’s ready to go. It seems as though Bruno feels the same way, though Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been far more reserved in that regard.
Hearing these words from arguably the best midfielder in the world is a massive confidence-booster for Jimmy Garner, who really does have the footballing world at his feet.
I can’t help but feel Garner would be the perfect holding-midfielder to utilise in a three alongside both Bruno and Paul Pogba. For that reason alone, I hope he’s kept in and around the first-team this year as I’m not sure what another loan move would do for him.
We’ll no doubt get a clearer picture of Ole’s plans for Garner over the next week or so.
