‘Agent Bruno’ is back, following the Portuguese Magnifico’s help in luring Cristiano Ronaldo to Old Trafford.
Manchester United’s summer transfer window was an incredible one. Big name signings were made all over the field, though there’s still some work to be done.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is assembling a top-quality squad, slowly but surely. However, there are still some concerns in that midfield role – particularly with Paul Pogba’s future remaining up in the air.
Now, according to The Sun, Bruno Fernandes is ready to help out in that regard, playing the agent role once again.
Apparently, the United star is in ‘regular contact’ with Reds transfer target, Raphinha. Yes, I know what you’re thinking, he does play for fierce rivals Leeds United…
The pair are close friends following spending time together at Sporting Lisbson, while their on-field relationship proved fruitful for the Portugese outfit.
Obviously, their paths have headed in different directions. Bruno has gone on to be United’s most influential player, while Raphinha has had a similar effect on a Leeds United side who made their Premier League return last season.
Raphinha is a top player who would improve our squad. Make no mistake about that. However, I don’t see the Elland Road club willingly parting with one of their best players – particularly to a direct enemy.
Even if the Brazilian pushed for a move, Leeds United would rather sell to pretty much any other club in the world and no doubt the transfer price on his head would be an incredibly large one.
As of right now, I’d be surprised if this move happened anytime soon. Raphinha is under contract and enjoying his football in Yorkshire. I’d suggest that any movement on this one will be delayed at least for another year or two…
Would a Man United move for Raphinha make sense? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
