Man United have a couple of players in Garth Crooks’ latest BBC TOTW after the Reds beat Fulham 3-1.
Manchester United were certainly not at their best against Fulham at Old Trafford yesterday. That much is obvious. Even Erik ten Hag cannot prevent the odd poor outing from the boys in Red. It just highlights the fact that this squad still needs major work.
However, any good side can win despite being at their peak levels. United found themselves 1-0 down and floundering midway through that second half against Fulham. When Jadon Sancho was about to make it 1-1, a moment of madness from Willian, followed by a triple sending-off, tilted the tide in the Reds’ favour.
It felt harsh on Fulham, who were the better team up until that point, though they absolutely imploded and United took full advantage, winning 3-1.
As a result, a couple of United stars were named in the latest BBC Team of the Week – which features both games from the FA Cup and Premier League.
Lisandro Martinez and Bruno Fernandes were the United lads that got the nod in this instance.

Let’s start with Martinez, who has turned into a true rock at the back for this United side. After a shaky start, the Argentine has settled into Premier League life brilliantly.
He’s not only an elite defender, but also an important on-field leader. He brings aggression but also calmness – something that’s very rare in any individual player.
As for Bruno, you don’t need me to bang on about how good he is. This guy continues to impress on the stats-sheet, goals, assists, he does it all. Sure, he’s guilty of losing his head at times, but United are so much better when he’s in the starting line-up – and that’s a matter of fact.
Well played, lads!
