Manchester United’s need to sign a top-quality midfielder was only further highlighted last night, when the Red Devils narrowly secured a 1-0 victory against Kristiansund.
The lack of production from the middle of the park was there for all to see without Paul Pogba, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set to have huge problems when the mercurial Frenchman isn’t available.
That certainly explains the constant rumours linking the Old Trafford outfit with a move for Bruno Fernandes this summer, and yesterday evening, David Amoyal, for ESPN, gave us a hugely positive update on the saga…
In his rumour rater post, Amoyal says there’s a 90% chance Fernandes moves to Old Trafford over the next week or so, claiming that the 24-year-old is ‘set’ to play for United next season.
Furthermore, the negotiations are in the final stages with Sporting CP set to receive a fee of around £70million to let Fernandes leave. Apparently, Sampdoria are set to earn 10% of any sell-on fee which is a nice little earner for the Serie A side.
This story is definitely picking up pace recently, it comes just hours after a claim we covered from Football Insider suggested that a deal is already done. One way or another, things are progressing in the right direction.
Fernandes’ creativity would be a welcome addition. This guy scored 32 goals while adding 18 assists in the 2018/19 campaign and that unique skill set could prove to be a valuable asset as Solskjaer looks to return United back to the very top…
