Bruno Fernandes was named Man United Player of the Month for April 2023.
Manchester United certainly endured a mixed April. The Red Devils progressed into the FA Cup final, though Premier League results were certainly mixed.
The one constant throughout the month was Bruno Fernandes. Although the attacking midfielder’s exploits didn’t show up on the score-sheet, he always looked like United’s biggest goal threat.
It’s what captains do. They stand up to be counted when the going is at its toughest. Bruno has done exactly that every single time he has taken to the field wearing that armband. We’re lucky to have him.
Anyway, for his April, Bruno was named United’s Player of the Month. Yesterday, he was handed his trophy.

It was just last summer when some fans were claiming that Bruno wouldn’t work under Ten Hag. Well, here we are, almost a year later, with the Portugal international still proving himself as arguably our most important player.
Without him, the chance creation in this side would almost be non-existent. All our man goal-scoring opportunities are coming courtesy of his boots.
You look at the Sevilla second leg as the prime example. United were nothing without him and it was an absolute travesty trying to watch the side muster up any sort of attacking threat without him.
Yes, sometimes he moans a little too much. Yes, sometimes he’s overeager. However, he’s the only real leader United have when they’re out on the pitch at times. At least it shows that he genuinely cares about returning the glory days back to Old Trafford.
Congratulations, Bruno!
