Manchester United’s Luke Shaw has just one year left on his current Old Trafford deal, meaning his signature could well be up for grabs. Now, Bundesliga giants VfL Wolfsburg are showing significant interest in the 22-year-old.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, per The Sun, with the report claiming that Shaw could be headed to Germany before the transfer window slams shut on August 9th.
With just twelve months remaining, and no talks regarding a new deal taking place as of yet, this could be United’s final chance to sell Shaw for money, rather than losing him on a free next summer.
I think it’s fair to say the left-back has been massively inconsistent since arriving at United, which is a real shame because he has talent in abundance.
Injuries certainly haven’t helped his case, neither has manager Jose Mourinho; who just doesn’t seem to fully trust Shaw.
However, he’s had an excellent pre-season tour, and with Ashley Young out resting, he could have played his way into the starting line-up for the Red Devils’ Premier League opener against Leicester City. Now, it’s up to the 22-year-old to ensure that spot in the team isn’t easily taken off him…
