Borussia Dortmund have accelerated their pursuit of Manchester United’s superstar attacker, Anthony Martial.
That’s what French media outlet Le10Sport are saying anyway, with the former AS Monaco man on Dortmund’s radar as a potential summer transfer target.
Apparently, contact with Martial’s representatives has already been initiated, although the deal is in its early stages and is rather far from completion.
With that said, I genuinely expect the 22-year-old to leave Old Trafford this summer. He’s a world-class individual who simply needs to be playing football, and following Alexis Sanchez’s arrival, that’s just not been happening as much as he’d like.
Le10Sport reckon that Martial is unhappy at Old Trafford following the lack of opportunities and you can completely understand where he’s coming from. It’s probably going to cost him his place at the World Cup which obviously isn’t ideal, and you genuinely couldn’t blame him if he chose to move on.
I think the fact that it’s only top-level European clubs showing an interest in Martial tells you everything you need to know about his talents. We’re talking about one of the best young talents in the game right now – and as an avid United supporter, losing him would be a bitter pill to swallow.
