Casemiro is thinking about making a move to Man United this summer.
Manchester United Football Club have spent so much time and effort chasing the signature of Frenkie de Jong. Sadly, that pursuit seems to have ended, with the Reds unsuccessful.
That has led Erik ten Hag to have to move towards other potential options in the central area. Over the last couple of days, Brazil midfielder Casemiro has been linked.
The 30-year-old has won it all at Real Madrid and is an absolute club legend. My initial feeling was that it’d be super tough to lure Casemiro to Manchester given the current state of affairs upon Salford Quays.
Well, journalist Roman Alvarez seems to believe United have a chance. It’s stated that the classy midfielder is considering making a transfer to United this summer, because he’d be given a huge wage increase.
It’s reported that United’s interest in Casemiro is not new, with the Red Devils long-term admirers of the player. Real would be open to listening to offers from United – but only if the player indicates that he wishes to leave.
The fact that he has already won everything at Real Madrid, coupled with the prospect of a huge wage increase, means that there’s at least a small chance of United pulling this deal out.
As of yet, no official bid has been made, so we’re still not sure how keen United are on making a formal move for Casemiro.
Look, there’s no doubt he’d be a direct upgrade on our current crop of defensive midfielders. But I still have serious doubts. I just don’t see why a serial winner like Casemiro would be willing to make the switch at this stage in his career…
