Casemiro ‘determined’ to stay at Man United and fight for his place in side

Casemiro is not ready to give up on his Man United career, with the Brazilian ready to fight for his place in the side.

Manchester United have lost two of their opening three games this season, which is obviously a less than ideal situation. The Red Devils were battered by Liverpool at the weekend, with Casemiro’s weaknesses completely exposed by our opponents.

The man from Brazil has come under fire for his display, for which he was hooked at half-time after looking lost in that United midfield.

As you’d expect, rumours about his short-term future quickly resurfaced. A move to Galatasaray was mentioned as the Turkish transfer window does remain open.

However, the Daily Mail have information contrary to the aforementioned Turkish report. Their journalist, Chris Wheeler, believes the United star is ‘determined’ to stay at the club and fight for his place, amid both a dip in form and interest from elsewhere.

Casemiro will reject any offers made from Galatasaray, as he looks to prove his worth at Old Trafford.

The competition for a place in the side is about to get tougher for the 32-year-old, who wasn’t called up for Brazil duty this month, as Manuel Ugarte has now arrived.

It’s probably a good thing that Case isn’t flying halfway across the world at this stage in his career, meaning he now has the better part of a fortnight to focus on the Southampton game.

United had been open to offers for Casemiro, though he remains under long-term contract worth £375,000-a-week, so the ball is firmly in the court of the player.

You absolutely have to admire the attitude. Casemiro is a winner. He’ll believe in himself endlessly. We have to respect that and give him our backing.
