Casemiro ‘expected’ to leave Man United, set to have meeting to determine future soon

Casemiro is now looking likely to leave Man United this summer, with a meeting to take place soon in order to finalise where his future lies.

Manchester United are in the middle of hitting the reset button, while winning an FA Cup was a great way to kickstart the INEOS era. I fully expect this squad to look rather different when the 2024/25 season rolls around.

Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial are leaving upon the expiry of their contract. No doubt other departures will follow.

One player whose future remains up in the air is Casemiro. The Brazil international has looked a shadow of his former self this term, though there’s still a hugely valuable player in there due to his experience.

Goal Brazil have provided an update on his future and in their headline they go bold, claiming that the United regular is ‘expected’ to leave United this summer, though nothing is finalised as of yet.

Casemiro is attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League, while the Brazilian will hold a meeting ‘soon’ in order to determine where his future does lie.

A couple of Saudi Pro League teams, Al Ahli and Al Qadisiya, are said to be leading the charge at the moment, where not only would they pay Casemiro what he currently earns, they’d also be willing to bump up his weekly wage even more.

Casemiro is currently United’s highest paid player at around £350,000-a-week, hence, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is looking to get that massive salary off the books.

Tensions between the Brazil midfielder and current boss, Erik ten Hag, are said to be high at the moment, with the ex-Real Madrid man removed from the FA Cup final squad at the last minute. Understandably, that has left Casemiro ‘hurt’, with Willy Kambwala replacing him on the bench.

If Ten Hag does stay, it does feel like this is the end of the road for Case in Manchester. For all his quality and experience, it would be a smart business decision to get him off the books – particularly as his performances have drastically deteriorated this season.
