Casemiro could be out of the Old Trafford exit door, having already said his goodbyes to the dressing room.

Manchester United Football Club are believed to be working with a limited budget, due to Financial Fair Play and Premier League Profit and Sustainability rules. It’s a tough situation for new owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe to try and navigate.

The general consensus is that the club will have to let players leave before they can buy. Raphael Varane. Anthony Martial. Brandon Williams. They’ve all gone. More will follow.

According to Football Transfers, Casemiro’s name is the next whose head could be on the chopping block.

They state that the key United star has already said his goodbyes to his teammates after the FA Cup final, while the Brazilian already said his permanent goodbyes to some staff members also. This suggests that it’s highly likely Case is on his way out of Old Trafford this summer.

What’s interesting here is that Football Transfers state that no final decision has yet been made on Casemiro’s future, who still has two years, plus an extra twelve months, on his current £350,000-a-week contract.

Interest in Casemiro from Saudi Arabia has been talked up during recent weeks, while removing the highest-paid player from the Old Trafford dressing room could certainly bolster the transfer budget available to the manager over the summer…

If we’re looking at recent performances, Casemiro has hardly covered himself in glory. It led to the ex-Real Madrid man being dropped from the FA Cup final squad completely. If your mega-money earner cannot even make the squad for the biggest game of the season, then surely it makes sense to get rid while there is sufficient interest in his signature?

While it would be sad to see a big personality leave, from a business perspective, it makes sense.

Do you think letting Casemiro leave is the right decision? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
