Man United midfielder Casemiro is on the mend, as he’s closing in on a comeback following a hamstring injury.
Manchester United’s season has been injury hit. The Red devils have been working with one hand tied behind their back effectively, with Erik ten Hag finding it tough to build momentum and cohesion with a consistent starting line-up.
Lisandro Martinez was a major blow, as was Casemiro. The pair were two of United’s three best players last season. It’s no surprise to hear that the side does not look the same without them.
United’s midfield man has been missing for four weeks now, after suffering a hamstring strain in a game in mid-November.
The Manchester Evening News have provided an update on Casemiro’s future – and also what his imminent return means for Dan Gore.
According to their information, the important United player is ‘nearing a return’ after his month-long absence through injury.
As a result, it could lead to the youngster Gore leaving on loan. The midfielder looked impressive in pre-season, though has found chances limited since the start of the serious action in August.
Preston North End are expressing an interest in Gore.
It does make sense to sanction a January loan deal as that’s when Casemiro will likely be back available. The man from Brazil will be looking to hit his stride in the second half of the season, hopefully finding some consistency alongside the likes of Sofyan Amrabat and Kobbie Mainoo.
The ex-Real Madrid man has been spotted back in training recently, though he’s still doing individual work at this stage, as he looks to slowly ramp things up in order to not risk further injury.
