Cavani sends message to Man United fans after hearing his new chant

Edinson Cavani has discovered his brand new chant, which was recently made up by some Manchester United fans.

Terrace songs are always pretty special. Though the chants made up for specific players take that to a completely new level.

I’m a big fan of Anthony Martial’s tune, which was made even more special when the Frenchman scored on debut against Liverpool.

Edinson Cavani is undoubtedly the new cult hero at Old Trafford, with some supporters coming up with a chant based on an ABBA track.

Well, El Matador is that popular, the striker has himself another song. This one is infinitely more catchy, and way likelier to be sung from the Stretford End on a matchday.

Cavani himself has since got ahold of the new song for him, sending a message thanks to the supporters for the affection.

Check out the video (and message from Cavani here):

“I am in love, I can’t deny… Our number 7, he’s the King of Uruguay. El Matador, who could that be? His first name’s Edinson, the second Cavani!”

Honestly, this is just class. I dunno’ if it’s because fans were allowed back in the stadium for the first time this weekend, but this one feels pretty special.

Cavani made an instant impression on the United supporters last term and we’re just so lucky that he chose to stick around for another season – allowing the Old Trafford Faithful to actually witness it in person.

With the 34-year-old now back in England ahead of his return to action, this will only further motivate our Uruguayan star to perform even better.

He now knows how loved he is, though I’m not sure Cavani realises actually how much these supporters adore him. He plays with a fiery determination, a willingness to succeed, a controlled aggression. It’s what us supporters cannot get enough of.

Cavani really is the king of Uruguay. And soon to be Manchester if he helps deliver us a title come next May…
