Charlie Savage signs new long-term Man United contract

Charlie Savage will remain a Man United player for the next few years at least.

Manchester United Football Club have been disappointing at first-team level, though at both u23 and u18 standard, the young Reds have been mightily impressive.

From the FA Youth Cup victory, to several of the next generation being called up to the senior squad, the club deserves praise for the work they’re doing with the next generation.

One of those to make his debut this term is Charlie Savage. The 19-year-old midfielder, son of Robbie, has been at the club for a decade now and continues to go from strength to strength.

Just last year, Savage signed his first pro contract with United, which tells you everything you need to know about his abilities.

Well, the club think so highly of the youngster that they’ve given him another deal, this time until 2025 with the option for a further year. The Reds confirmed the news yesterday. Upon signing a deal, Savage sent a heartfelt message to the fans.

Currently playing at U23 level, Savage is one of those guys who is banging on the door of the first team. With the likes of Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic leaving this summer, there could well be an opening there for the Leicester-born midfielder.

The good news about this new contract for Savage is that he can now focus solely on his football. Rather than worrying about where his future within the game lies, that’s now secure for the foreseeable future, allowing him to develop without any pressure.

This is great news for Savage and his family and friends. Hopefully, we get to see a good dose of him during pre-season!

Congratulations, Charlie!
