Chelsea and Arsenal on alert after Man United star yet to pen new deal: report

Both Chelsea and Arsenal have been put on alert as Luke Shaw is yet to sign a new contract at Manchester United, according to MirrorSport.

Apparently, talks between United and Shaw are yet to take place, with the 22-year-old’s current deal expiring at the end of next season. That has led to interest from both aforementioned London sides who are expected to be in the market for a new left-sided defender.

The player himself wants to sign a new contract at Old Trafford, considerably upping his wages in the process. Talks are expected to happen, but if new terms aren’t agreed then Arsenal and Chelsea will be ready to pounce.

As of now, the good thing is that Shaw still has over twelve months left on his current deal, so there is no need to part ways with the England international over the summer.

With that said, I’d be surprised if a new deal isn’t agreed within the next few months. Shaw is the future of this club, with Jose Mourinho himself saying he expects the Southampton academy product to be at the Theatre of Dreams for many years.
