Amid the lack of football being played, media attention has understandably turned towards transfer stories.
Over the weekend, one slipped through the net here at Old Trafford Faithful HQ. The story came on Saturday, from the Daily Mail, with United once again linked with Jude Bellingham.
Apparently, Premier League giant Chelsea are trying to hijack United’s move for the midfielder, though United remain the favourites.
This does coincide with an article we covered from 90min.com yesterday, who claimed that United are confident that they have done enough to secure the deal. However, there are several other interested parties.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I’m not going to sit here and pretend I’ve watched Bellingham play week-in-week-out. I’ve never seen him, but the midfielder must be supremely gifted.
Aged just sixteen, the footballing world is his oyster. There’s no doubt the Englishman will be leaving Birmingham City this summer, it’s just a case of trying to work out his next move. Hopefully, he chooses Old Trafford.
United are so keen that, apparently they’re willing to pay up to £50million to secure Bellingham. That’s an awful lot of money to pay for someone who hasn’t played a Premier League game in his career. The only comparable fee the Reds have paid is the £30million to sign 17-year-old Wayne Rooney, though Wazza was already a ready-made star at that point…
