Chelsea to make third Rooney bid

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, has confirmed the club will make a third bid for Wayne Rooney – but only after the two sides meet on Monday night. He claims that ethically it wouldn’t be right to bid for Rooney before the game, because it would probably rule the player out. Whenever Chelsea do decide to bid, I’m still certain United won’t sell.

Wayne Rooney played just over half an hour for United against Swansea on Saturday, and added an impressive two assists. However he didn’t look at all happy whilst on the pitch, and didn’t celebrate with his teammates when we scored.

He still can’t be fully match fit either, as the only other game time he has played this pre-season was the hour for England against Scotland a week ago. Rooney usually takes longer than most players to get up to speed anyway, due to the build of his body.

I can’t imagine Wayne will start the game on Monday anyway, but if he does it’ll be more out of intent from Moyes, showing Chelsea that Rooney does want to play for United. I can’t see him lasting more than an hour though, and his performance levels will suffer due to his lack of game time.
