Chris Hughton ‘delighted’ with input from Man United loanee James Garner

Nottingham Forest manager has expressed just how happy he is with Manchester United loanee, James Garner.

Manchester United Football Club could be on the hunt for a midfielder this summer. Although the Red Devils’ answer may already be right under their nose in the form of James Garner.

The Englishman, 20, has always shown promise but for whatever reason, Garner has been bereft of his first-team chances. A loan move to Nottingham Forest has definitely kickstarted his young career. Now, we’re looking at a player with bags of potential.

Garner is the ideal box-to-box midfielder United are looking for. Two-footed, a great passer and also someone with an eye for goal. When Scott McTominay needs a rest or is out injured, United can call upon Garner to fill that void with no problem whatsoever.

Well, Chris Hughton, who is managing Ganrrner at Nottingham Forest, is certainly pleased with the contributions from the United starlet.

After making it two goals in two games yesterday, Hughton explained just how impressed he is with the United loanee, admitting he’s ‘delighted’ with what the midfielder is giving him right now.

Check out what Hughton had to say here:

“At this moment, my thoughts are very much on what he’s giving us and how he’s helping us in the best way he can.” Hughton told Nottinghamshire Live.

“It’s also about us helping his development and us having the best relationship with Manchester United we can.

“And then we’ll see what happens.

“He’s not our player, so it’s very difficult to talk about him in any terms.

“All I can say is the relationship with United has been very good and we’re delighted with what James is giving us.”

We can’t get enough of Jimmy at the moment. The quality is there for all to see. I’m just praying he’s a part of United’s pre-season plans going into the 2021/22 campaign. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer surely has to see that Garner is ready to make his mark at Old Trafford?

What’s great is that Garner will come back to the club a miles better player. I’m of the opinion that one loan move should be more than enough to tell whether someone is ready and if we see Garner shipped out again, it’ll let us all know that Solskjaer just doesn’t fancy him as a footballer.

The fact that we’re in the middle of a global pandemic certainly plays into Garner’s hands. Money will once again be tight and if United can fill a void with a player from their academy, it’ll save them an awful lot of money.

Now, it’s just about hoping Garner gets that chance.
