Christian Eriksen may leave Man United for free next summer, with a possible move back to Ajax in the offing.

Manchester United’s squad is probably in the best shape it has ever been in since Erik ten Hag took charge. These things do take time, as the Dutchman looks to mould the dressing room into one that fits his style of play.

One of Ten Hag’s first signings was Christian Eriksen. During his debut season, the Dane was magnificent in midfield, forming a real partnership with Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes.

However, since then, Eriksen has been pushed out of the starting line-up by Kobbie Mainoo, meaning he has had to settle for limited minutes. That led to doubts about his future at Old Trafford.

Now, The Sun have provided another update on Eriksen’s future, claiming that the United star could now leave the Reds on a free transfer this summer, heading back to former club Ajax.

The Dane’s contract is up in June, with the midfielder now having a decision to make about where his future lies.

It’s stated that Eriksen is in high demand despite the ex-Spurs man being in the latter stages of his career.

The Dutch giants Ajax are said to be weighing up offering the midfielder a three-year deal, which is massive given the fact he is now 32. Clubs in both America and Saudi Arabia are also showing an interest in Eriksen.

Understandably, the player is ‘attracted’ to the idea of a ‘fairytale’ move back to Amsterdam.

Honestly, at his age, a three-year contract may just be too good to turn down. That’s a huge deal for Eriksen and a move back to the Dutch capital now seems very likely.
