Christian Eriksen is just waiting to undergo his Man United medical. Then, the deal will be finalised.
Manchester United Football Club were moving rather slowly at the start of the summer transfer window.
Although players were being let go, those guys were not being replaced in a speedy manner. Suddenly, though, United have jolted into action.
A move for Tyrell Malacia is all-but-done after the Dutchman completed his medical yesterday.
Reports yesterday also claimed that Christian Eriksen had ‘verbally agreed’ to join United and it was just a matter of time before that deal would be finalised.
Today, Fabrizio Romano has given us a majorly positive update in regards to United’s pursuit of Eriksen.
Apparently, the contracts are ready, Eriksen’s medical is pending and then the deal will be completed. Romano adds that the Dane will become United’s second summer signing, following the aforementioned Malacia.
What I like most about this addition is the fact that Eriksen arrives on a free transfer, playing in a position of need.
Our midfield is looking super light following the exits of both Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic, with United filling one of those holes without a transfer fee.
Eriksen will also bring some much-needed experience to a youthful-looking United dressing room. Having that veteran presence will no doubt rub off on the young lads.
The former Spurs man looked back to his best by the end of his time at Brentford and now, he’s trying to make the step up to the elite level once again.
The good thing for both player and club is that Eriksen won’t be depended on game-in-game-out. Erik ten Hag can fit him in the side as and when he sees fit.
