The Dane has only started nine Premier League games this season, completing ninety minutes in just two. After a solid debut campaign, Eriksen has definitely taken a small step back this time around. He’s now a fringe player at best.
Now, Football Transfers have provided the latest information on his future. They have stated that the United midfielder ‘will leave’ this summer, if a suitable offer arrives for the 32-year-old.
After signing from Brentford in 2022, the Old Trafford club have now given a green light for Eriksen’s departure during the upcoming window.
According to the article, Eriksen and Ten Hag have already spoken about the midfielder’s exit, though it will depend on a satisfactory offer arriving.
When you factor in the emergence of Kobbie Mainoo, coupled with the signing of Mason Mount, this always feels likely. You’d assume on-field minutes are only going to trend downwards for Eriksen and if he wants to be starting games, a move away is the only option.
Although it’s not a foregone conclusion Eriksen will leave, as the club seems open to keeping him around if the right offer doesn’t arrive.
I guess it boils down to what sort of interest arrives in the ex-Tottenham Hotspur man.
