Well, we’re only in January and Manchester United have already been linked with names aplenty as possible summer transfer target.
The one name that keeps cropping up, though, is Crystal Palace right-back, Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The classy 21-year-old is enjoying a brilliant breakthrough season at Selhurst Park, as his stock continues to rise.
Now, according to the Daily Mail, it is being claimed that Wan-Bissaka, who is rated at £40million, is United’s top transfer target for the coming summer.
The report also adds that Solskjaer is trying to inject youthful exuberance into the squad through signings, rather than adopting Real Madrid’s Galacticos model; which certainly makes sense given United’s Alexis Sanchez struggles.
Bringing in Wan-Bissaka would certainly be a positive start. The Englishman is playing brilliantly at the moment. Not only is he a threat going forward but he has been supremely solid when defending.
What I personally love is the calmness that he plays with. Our defenders have an annoying tendency to boot the ball up field at the first possible opportunity rather than looking for a pass. Wan-Bissaka would instantly change that, which is mightily impressive considering he’s only been playing regular first-team football for around twelve months.
