Manchester United are clearly trying to get some transfer business done under the radar this January, but up until now they’ve been struggling to make new additions. The latest name coming out of the media being linked with an Old Trafford move is Saul Niguez, but it looks unlikely.
The Atletico Madrid attacking midfielder is reportedly open to leaving, but an official from the Spanish club has told Mundo Deportivo that: “He (Saul) is not for sale.”
Niguez, 21, is obviously highly thought of by Diego Simeone and company, but they’ll do well to keep hold of him beyond the summer as he clearly craves more regular playing time.
The young man has plenty of talent, and his biggest asset is his creativity on the ball. With the right attacking flair around him he guarantees assists for any side in football, and he’d be a fantastic addition if Edward Woodward can somehow pull this move off.
