Manchester United Football Club have had a rather underwhelming transfer window to this point. The Red Devils have only added three signings; none of which look to be game-changers at this point.
This squad also needs a massive overhaul in terms of outgoings. Daley Blind has headed back home to Ajax, although there are still several average players still at Old Trafford. One name that springs to mind is Matteo Darmian, now, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed that there is an offer on the table for the former Torino man; although he confirmed whether that bid had been accepted.
“It’s true that we asked for Darmian on loan with a right to buy,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, per Goal.
It’s interesting. Darmian finds himself in a weird situation due to the injury crisis in the defence at the moment. Antonio Valencia is sidelined, we’ve not seen Diogo Dalot as of yet. Darmian’s the first-choice right-back on the tour, he’s also had the honour of wearing the captain’s armband too…
Jose Mourinho is a meticulous planner. He simply won’t let Darmian leave if it means starting the season without a right-sided full-back, he’d rather keep an unhappy player at the club for an extra few months and let him leave in January. Hopefully, everyone gets what they want and Valencia can get himself back fit for the season’s start, meaning the Italian can head back home…
