Confidence amongst parties that Sancho to Man Utd will happen: report

It seems as though Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and Jadon Sancho are growing in confidence that a transfer will happen.

For the last few years, Manchester United haven’t tried to hide their admiration for Jadon Sancho.

The Red Devils haven’t had that world-class right-winger since Cristiano Ronaldo left the club a decade ago. Now, it looks as though they’re finally trying to fill that void.

It feels like we’re getting an update on this rumour on a daily basis at this point. The latest claim comes from journalist Fredrik Flitvedt, who took to Twitter to deliver us some news.

He states that the most important people involved in United’s move to sign the 21-year-old are increasingly confident that a deal will happen this summer.

Sancho, who is currently away with England ahead of the European Championships, has enjoyed a brilliant four years with the Bundesliga outfit.

After a United move for Sancho failed to come to fruition last summer, I thought the ship had sailed.

However, the global pandemic, coupled with Sancho now only having a couple of years left on his contract, could play into United’s hands.

It means Sancho could now cost less than the reported £108m it would have taken to sign him in 2020, while he also has an extra year of experience under his belt.

Make no mistake about it, Sancho would significantly improve this United squad. Not only is the Englishman someone who can come into the side from day one, he also offers Solskjaer an extra option in terms of rotation and resting players.

This would be the marquee signing of the summer and at this point, I’m hopeful United can pull the deal off.
