Manchester United’s goalkeeper problem has been well documented over the last couple of months. David de Gea clearly wants out of Old Trafford, and Victor Valdes has been out of favour due to reportedly refusing to play for the clubs reserves during March last season.
Today, according to Sky Sources, Victor Valdes has agreed a two-year deal to join Turkish side Besiktas as Manchester United continue their huge squad overhaul.
Its a shame really, as Valdes would’ve made an outstanding backup to David de Gea but you felt the former Barcelona man always wanted more but that was never going to be the case at the Theatre of Dreams.
A move away is probably in the best interests of all involved. He himself is clearly unsettled here, United get someone with reasonably high wages off the weekly bill and it means David de Gea looks one step closer to staying at the club for at least another season.
